Configuring the Promotional Products Historical Orders Control

This control displays a promotional list of products based on customer historical orders. When a user is logged in and this control is displayed, it shows related products they might be interested in based on orders they have placed in the past. This control is based on a customer's history of orders for the past three years and the matching criterion is based on what is ordered within the same order. Additionally, if a customer has ordered the same product on multiple occasions, it will become higher on the list of suggestions that the system will provide. See Configuring the Web Settings for the Promotional Products Historical Orders Control for more information on how to drop this control onto a page on your e-Business website.

Prerequisites

Products must be web-enabled (verified in TMAR_WEB_PRODUCT_VW) and requires a customer ID to determine where to begin. This control depends on a SQL job to populate a working table: OLS_CUS_ORDER_HISTORY_INFO. It looks at previous orders and tries to find Cross-sell or Up-sell product relationships on the products in those orders. The sequence in which the products will display in this marketing control is based on the order date, the most recent being first. Up to twenty-five products can display on a screen.

Customer Impact

Your Customer Historical Orders Control will display wherever you choose to place it on your website. It is recommended that you place it on the Product Listing page so that customers will see it right after they have logged in, but you could also place it on the Product Detail screen as well, if desired.
