Configuring the Promotional Products Bought this Bought that Control

This control is a promotional list of related products to the current product you are viewing. This is part of the new promotional marketing controls developed with the DNN Web Control Container. The Bought this Bought that Control displays with the Product Detail page. It allows you to show related items to that product. For instance, if you are attending an event and there are books written by the speaker of the event, other individuals may have purchased the books. In an additional example, if you are looking at the first book from “The Hunger Games” series, customers who bought this product may have also bought the second and third books from this series. By using the Bought this Bought that Control, it would display as “Customer who bought this, also bought “Catching Fire” (book 2) and “Mockingjay” (book 3).

Currently, the Bought this Bought that Control displays products based on orders placed from the last three years.

See Configuring the Web Settings for the Promotional Products Bought this Bought that Control for more information on how to drop this control onto a page on your e-Business website.

Prerequisites

Products must be web-enabled (verified in TMAR_WEB_PRODUCT_VW) and product ID is required to determine where to begin. The control depends on a SQL job to populate two working tables: OLS_CUS_ORDER_HISTORY_INFO and OLS_SUGGESTED_PRODUCT_INFO. The sequence in which products will display in this marketing control is determined by the total number of orders with this combination of products. Up to twenty-five products can display with the higher priority being first.

Customer Impact

The control displays wherever you’d like to put it on the Product Detail page. You can choose if you would like for it to display horizontally or vertically. It will display the image and additional information about the product. If you choose to display more than three products at a time, an arrow will display allowing the user to scroll, as shown below.

If you choose to display this control vertically, it will display, as shown below.
