If
you simply linked Product 2 to the coupon, the system would record the
coupon for the customer, but the invoice would not display that a coupon
was attached to the product.
To display a coupon on an invoice:
1. Define a product (Product 1) with a name associated with the coupon.
2. Define a coupon and link it to Product 1.
3. Add the product that will award the coupon (Product 2) as a component.
4. When a customer purchases Product 2, Product 1 will populate as a component and will display on the invoice.
