BusinessObjects Enterprise requires a database to store Central Management Server (CMS) information about the system and its users. This database is referred to as the CMS, or system, database.
The following sections detail required settings and how to test settings for:

· Microsoft SQL Server
· Oracle
· Sybase IQ
Before installing BusinessObjects Enterprise, review this information in order to properly prepare your CMS system and auditing database. For more information on database requirements, refer to the “Databases in BusinessObjects Enterprise” section in the SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise Planning Guide.
Regardless
of database type, the database must be setup to use Unicode character
encoding, such as UTF-8.
