Creating an Inventoried Product

Products are typically defined as items that are normally inventoried and that must go through a shipping and invoicing process. The product can include items such as books, shirts, mugs, CDs, and intellectual property.

To create an inventoried product:

1.    Define the general product: individual or standing order.

2.    Define rates and pricing.

3.    Define GL accounts.

4.    Define Revenue accounts.

5.    Define shipping charges.

6.    Define cancellation fees.

7.    Define components.

8.    Define inventory locations (only applicable for Individual Products).

9.    Defining Inventoried Product Images

10.  Validate setup.

11.  Inventoried Product Review

If you want to create an inventoried product similar to the one you already created, use the Copy an Inventoried Product functionality.

This functionality allows you to select specific parts of a product setup you want to copy over to a new product instead of re-entering the same information.
