When your team customizes a base universe, rename the universe with a client name in it, rather than storing it in a different folder. For example, instead of customizing the “All Order Entry” universe by storing it in a different folder, keep the universe in the main folder and rename it something similar to “GSUSA All Order Entry.”
The advantages to renaming the universe include the following:
End users have less chance of accidentally using the wrong universe.
Administrators have less chance of writing over the universe with a new universe.
When you port the report from one envelope to another, you can easily set the document to the new universe.
