Preparing the Central Management Console (CMC)

The Central Management Console, or CMC, is where you will configure your BusinessObjects installation. During this step, you delete any sample folders, universe connection, universes, or user groups delivered initially with the BusinessObjects product.

 

Deleting these items is optional, but allows you to easily distinguish which reports, universes, etc. are delivered as a part of your Personify application, as compared to BusinessObjects. TMA Resources recommends deleting these items to avoid any possible confusion.

To prepare the CMC for configuration:

1.    Login to the CMC.

2.    Delete the existing folders by following the lettered steps below.
These include Feature Samples and Report Samples.

a.    From the CMC homepage, click Folders.

b.    Use the CTRL key to select multiple folders.

c.    Select Manage > Delete.

d.    Click OK/Yes to confirm if it asks you to.

3.    Delete any universe connections by following the lettered steps below.
These include Club, eFashion, and EvalSQL.

a.    From the CMC homepage, click Connections.

b.    Use the CTRL key to select multiple universes.

c.    Select Manage > Delete.

4.    Delete any universes by following the lettered steps below.
These include eFashion and Island Resorts Marketing.

a.    From the CMC homepage, click Universes.

b.    Use the CTRL key to select multiple universes.

c.    Select Manage > Delete.

d.    Click OK/Yes to confirm if it asks you to.

5.    Delete any universe folders.

6.    Perform the following to delete user groups:

a.    From the CMC homepage, click Users and Groups.

b.    Use the CTRL key to select multiple users or groups.

c.    Select Manage > Delete.

d.    Click OK/Yes to confirm if it asks you to.
